PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click. Now, this is an Internet advertising model used on websites, in which advertisers will have to pay when their ad is clicked by a surfer. So every time the ad is clicked, it will cost money to the advertiser.
When I started first using Pay per click as a Marketing Strategy to promote my “MLM” business, I nearly lost everything.
This is very tricky and even addictive. You will lose your money so fast that this can even make you bankrupt. Seriously.
Pay-Per-Click programs are basically designed to increase traffic to advertisers who want their products to be advertised through other websites.
See, this is all about testing, analyzing statistical data, and for that, you will have to continually test and tweak. in order to keep improving your performance. But, you’ll have to make sure that your “experiment” is untouched and is not disturbed by other factors.
PPC advertising is very different from other forms of online advertising, in the sense that, it offers an effective way to reach your potential customers at that moment, when they are actually looking for your products and services.
This is a great way to market your company’s products or services to online users in a direct and relevant manner.
Some web sites will let you place an advertisement by paying a published CPM (cost-per-thousand) rate. This means that you'll pay a certain fee every time your ad is shown, regardless of whether it is clicked or not.
Still other sites may charge you a fixed monthly or quarterly subscription fee. This is especially popular with online directories. Your costs are the same every month but the price is set by the service provider.
You pay only for the clicks:Pay only when the visitor clicks on your ad. This provides you with a golden opportunity to convert your visitor into a paying customer, with each click. Whereas, other forms of advertising, make you pay even if your visitor never actually came to your site.
You choose your price: Big one. You decide what your maximum PPC price is going to be for your ads. For search advertising, you can choose a different price for every keyword you bid on.
Here, the strategy is to optimize your bids to keep the costs low.
You choose your keywords:You can be very specific about where you want your ads to be shown. You have complete control over your "keywords" at all times and can make changes on a daily basis.
This gives you solid flexibility to manipulate your keywords based on the visitor actions and responses. The key here is to measure and manage your campaigns, in such a way that, you are bidding on very low price keywords, that has reasonable traffic and visitor interest. This makes your campaign very profitable and lucrative.
I will spell out the strategies that you can implement, and avoid burning your finger, like I did, when I started with this.
The major player in Pay-per-click advertising is Google. Google's adwords program is very popular and is the fastest way to get your target audience before your product/service.
Google's CPC (Cost-per-click) is based on several factors, and uses this to base its Pay-per-click ranking system. Which means, this can be a deciding point of your success or otherwise with PPC.
You can learn more about cost-per-click by visiting the CPC page.
Highly targeted, low cost keywords will make you profit. The keywords should have adequate demand or searches and should not be very broad or very competitive.
They should be very relevant to your niche or target market. There are some very effective strategies to locate your low cost keywords and to come up on the 1st page with your winning ad in Google. Especially with the ‘Long Tail Keywords’.
Learn all the strategies by going to Google Ad-words page. Go to Google Adwords for more on this ....
6 - Searchfeed Did not work on this much. May be I need to focus a little more on this.
7 - ABCSearch This is relatively new. Never had enough time to focus on this one. But, I will start to work on this more now.
8 - Marchex AdHere Never worked on this one as yet. In fact, I am working on some PPC campaigns for Marchex. I will post my findings here. Keep visiting this page, as I will update this list quiet frequently.
Cost Per Action (CPA) is paying for advertising based on an action (Buying, providing an email, downloading an e book etc.) performed by your visitor. You make the payment only when somebody takes an action. Plain and simple.
In other words, you control your advertising cost.
CPA offers you with an opportunity to control your Return On Investment (ROI). CPA Marketing is one of the fastest growing forms of affiliate marketing today.
Many people find CPA marketing as a complex process, with little or no hope of understanding.
But, really, the principles behind this marketing strategy is simple once you take a closer look.
What role does a CPA have in internet marketing?
Is this also what you are thinking?
Quite simple. You see, almost everyone under the sun is on the net these days. And each and every person is trying to “Make Money Online”.
Let's assume that, you have a website with many products or services that you can sell, and you have spent thousands of dollars on web design, with the coolest graphics and inventory.
Now you wait...and wait...and wait...Nothing happens.
WHY?
The truth is that, nobody knows about your site and that it exists. Or, if they do, they are not motivated to give out any information or make a purchase.
This is where CPA comes in. An advertiser “hires” affiliates to bring him those sales or actions. Those affiliates are paid a commission, that is strictly based on visitor action.
You see how this thing is connected?
I will discuss the nuts and bolts of CPA marketing in a different page. Go to CPA for all the details and some insider secrets...
Now, you can do the same thing with “CPA Marketing”.
Based on the CPA program, you get paid, when a visitor that you send to the CPA affiliate site, does either of the following:
-> Sign up for a free product trial
-> Provide their email address on an email entry form
-> Fill out a survey
-> Submit a zip code
-> Register to a website for free
-> Subscribe to a free newsletter, etc.
You see the different ways that you can make money here……… Easy money!!!
So, you can use “CPA Marketing” to promote your site by your team of affiliates, and gain prominence, create brand awareness, etc. very quickly.
On the other hand, marketers seeking to make money online, can send traffic to the CPA sites and get paid for the same.
Whatever the case may be, you will have to understand the basics of how this works and how an effective campaign is setup. I will discuss the nitty gritty of this on a separate page.
As I have been mentioning through out on this website, you need to get good mentoring or training programs to succeed online. The reason why I am saying this is that, I have failed many times when I started online. No proper guidance was available to me at that time.
A proper guidance and a step by step process will help a long way to reduce the learning curve and at the same time implement some effective PPC and other marketing strategies.
I highly recommend you to bookmark this page and return as often as you can, so that you are equipped with the right tools and resources in your journey to your internet success.
A couple of things that you will need to be aware of and monitor in your PPC endeavour are:
-> Tracking:
Tracking is the way to monitor and assess the success of your PPC campaign. The success of a “Cost Per Click” campaign, like “Google Adwords”, depends highly on your ability to measure and manage your campaigns on a regular basis.
This involves testing and tweaking your "ads" until you optimize your ad performance. There are several tools available to track and monitor your CPCcampaigns.
I will cover them separately in my coming updates. Stay tuned in.
-> Click frauds:
This is where I need to caution you. The PPC advertising model is open to abuse, through "click fraud". Google and others have implemented automated systems to guard against abusive clicks by competitors or corrupt web masters.
Fraud has plagued PPC advertising medium since its inception, and while many PPC networks have made significant progress in combating click fraud, it is still something to be wary of.
At last we are at the end of the page. What a relief!!
